Givgle is powered by Google, the best search engine on the planet. So, when you search on Givgle, you'll get the same great results you get on Google (go on try it!). When you click on an ad in Google, Larry & Sergey make lots of money. When you click on an ad in Givgle Larry & Sergey still make a lot of money but a decent chunk goes to good causes.
This is because Google shares their revenue with sites like Givgle and because we think its a good idea, we donate 100% of profit (at least 90% of all revenue) to good causes.
Change your default search to Givgle and tell your friends to do the same. Why not tweet about it on Twitter or change your status on Facebook?
Since we've just launched (and not made any money yet!) we're not sure how best to choose the charities but when we've got it sorted, we'll post the details here. If you have any questions or suggestions please

Ps. Please make Givgle your default search engine. It only takes 3 clicks and you'll be making money for good causes without knowing it!
We want to be up-front about how Givgle works ('cos its only natural people think there's a catch). So, here's the split between the good causes and Givgle. This is the minimum split the good causes will get. As Givgle grows we expect our slice to reduce quite a bit (we're aiming for 1%).
Please note that this is total revenue not profit so from our cut we've got to run the show.
Since its early days and we have no idea how quickly we're going to be able to raise money, we're going to support a charity until $1000 has been raised and then review the situation.
The first charity we're supporting is nothingbutnets.net. They provide nets for fighting malaria throughout the world. Malaria kills over 1 million people every year - that's about 1 person every 30 seconds. Think about that, its pretty mind blowing!
If you have any suggestions about how charities should be chosen or what charities to support please send us a tweet.
